descending sets
a technique and a Weider Principle in which you gradually reduce the weight within the set of an exercise. A training partner stripping the weight so you can continue to keep training without stopping is very useful.
having one or more spotters remove plates from the bar during a set so that the lifter can continue with a lighter weight after having reached failure . Same as descending sets .
